Resin PolCO₂ is an alkaline phenol-formaldehyde resin used in the technology of loose self-curing substances. The substances are cured at room temperature by CO₂ sweeping. PolCO₂ is used in manufacturing moulds and cores, mostly for cast iron and cast steel. The castings have a clean surface. Short time of the substance’s curing time allows for quick manufacturing of both cores and moulds. Substances bound with this binder have a low odour and are incomparably better knock-out properties as compared to similar liquid glass bonded substances.
